12th February 2011 Hiking - Walking: Trimley Marshes Wind Direction: Wind Stength: light Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: 12 Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny periods Max Speed: Distance Covered: approx 5 m Day started off poor overcast :( but the good weather arrived after lunch so Mag and I headed to Trimley St Mary and parked at the end of Cordys Lane at three.We set off along the very wet lane towards the dock and the bird watching hides at Trimley marshes :) We looked in three of the hides and saw hundreds of birds including another barn owl !!! The River Orwell looked great and we watched the huge container ship at the end berth at Felixstowe dock being loaded. We then walked some of the way back along the dock fence where the thousands of containers are stored arriving back at the van at five as it was getting dark !!! So a top day great walk,England good win against Italy ( even if I did'nt record it - did'nt switch machine on !!! ) and I might even get to go windsurfing tomorrow if it's not too wet !!! http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2090790&id=1012660562&l=b5d09f3234 |
